Hi everyone-
So every year at my school there are a few people that throw an amazing halloween party that everyone in the school goes to and I am in charge of it this year. We have a venue and everything but I just need a few tips. Anyone have some pointers?
Thanks!
Hi
Here are top three things you can use to have a truly macabre party atmosphere:
a) Scary decorations: Halloween decorations, coupled with some special effects and haunting music, are enough to drive anyone crazy! There are surely hundreds of different types of Halloween decorations and props available from dollar stores, but if you really want to set a unique party theme, I would suggest that you make your own unique, decorations!
In fact, you even don’t need to do it yourself if you don’t have time; you can engage your kids, or the kids of your friends or neighbors in it instead. In fact I would say that kids are better at creating ghoulish decorations than adults!
b) Scary foods: If you thought you cannot scare your party guests with foods, you are wrong again! All you need is a creative bent of mind and you can make scary and ghoulish shapes out of simple foods such as cookies!
c) Halloween costumes: Contrary to the popular belief, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on Halloween costumes, even if you want the scariest one for yourself. I have found that if you start shopping as early as a month ahead of the Halloween season, you would not only get what you want but also be able to save a load of money! Remember that early shoppers are offered good discounts so as to attract them to the stores!
There are other things you can use to add to the scary theme of your party, such as games, contests, etc, but the three things I have told you about are the basics you must have!
Have a look at the link in the source box for some more great ideas.
Hope they help!
Take care
Paul

My children are turning 6 and 4. I wanted to have a celebrity kids birthday party where all the children will be required to come dressed as a celebrity, athlete, etc. Will have a red carpet at the door, pi cures taken as souvenirs, plastic Champagne glasses with juice, music, dancing, fake trophy’s for winners. I need some game ideas. This is the only game idea I have:
1. Play Sheraids to guess what celebrity the child is.
any others? Any ideas from my Yahoo family would really help. Best gets 10 as always!!!
freeze dance to some music, hula hoop, maybe pretend catwalk? karaoke?

I want my 14th birthday to be memorable, but I’m on a very low budget. I’m planning on a sleepover with my 5 best friends, but I don’t know where to go or what to do to make it fun. I’ve searched all over the internet, but I just keep seeing the same ideas again and again. I’m mainly looking for activities that I could plan the whole party around, like a mall scavenger hunt or fashion show for example. Any ideas?
Have an America’s Next Top Model theme. Have some fun, funky second-hand clothes you have to combine into high fashion outfits. Have make-up stations where you have to put on make-up for all kinds of crazy photo shoots like they do on the show (animals, superheros, aliens, haute couture–basically wild). Give yourselves crazy hair styles. Then take lots of pictures. Use a Polaroid or digital camera and print off the pictures right away.

I need some good slumber party theme and activity ideas for a 13 year old. It can be costly. It WILL be at a hotel. Thanks!
"Grease"
Watch the movie…
Get a hairdresser to come in and give you 50’s hair.
Get dressed up in 50’s clothes.
Go to a 50’s restaurant if you have one.

My moms a real party pooper so what are some good
party ideas that are G rated? And not too messy.
Consider a Halloween themed scavenger or treasure hunt. Check out http://www.mastersofthehunt.com/halloween-scavenger-hunt-activity.php. They have a couple different Halloween hunts including a Halloween Scavenger Hunt Activity. There are four sections – a creative activity, cleverly themed scavenger hunt items, Halloween-themed trivia and Halloween-themed puzzles. It is great for any Halloween Party.

I’m a guy, so male celebrities would be preferred but not not required. To get an idea of what I’m talking about, here are some ideas I’ve had:
- MJ
- Dale Earnhardt
- Stephen Hawking (yes, I know he’s not dead…)
- Abe Lincoln
None of these jumped out to me though…
I wouldn’t say MJ would be "unique" seeing as he was so huge and he’s only just died. (Also, I think it could be disrespectful depending on the mood of the party.) And going as Stephen Hawking is distasteful. I would laugh if someone dressed up as Saddam Hussein or someone really terrible like that – yes, I have a very black sense of humour.

I really need help, guys. My best friend of five years threw me the BEST party last year; she showed up spontaniously in my driveway, jumped and blindfolded me, shoved me in her car and altogether "abducted" me. It was so scary and so fun, because I knew something was up. (all the laughing was a give-away…) She then drove me to my favorite resaurant where, once she un-blindfolded me, there were ten of my closest friends. This is her idea of a "surprise party".
Now its her turn, and I really want to one-up her on the suprise party factor. Any ideas? I really don’t like the usual "jump out and shot ‘SURPRISE!’" thing. We’ve done that plenty of times before.
I have about six girls at my disposal who are willing to help with any lieing/conniving/plotting that needs to be done. Any ideas on how to out-surprise the queen of surprises?
Have everyone call her and wish her a happy birthday. That night, give her a call and tell her to put on a nice dress. Have a limo waiting outside her house. Have a crown waiting in the limo for her, along with her closest friends, all dressed as peasants. Let her know that her wish is your command and offer to give her a manicure/pedicure during the ride. Make sure to serve her champagne and strawberries during the ride. Take her to a nice restaurant for dinner. Dont forget to ask for her permission before you begin to eat. Family and friends should be there waiting. Have everyone take turns telling her why she is the best queen anyone could have.

So we’re throwing a birthday party for my 80 year old grandpa and we wanted to do a theme party. The thing is we couldn’t think of anything that wasn’t too childish. Any ideas?
Get him some strippers.

I turned 15 yesterday and I want to have a birthday party a couple weeks from now. I’m thinking of renting a hotel pool for a day and having my party in the pool room. It costs a small fee for the pool and and $5 per person. Does any one have any other/ better ideas? Please don’t give me somethig that rediculously high priced.
thats a awesome idea! stick with it! another idea is to just grab a bunch of close friends and go to the mall together. you dont have to shop. just cruise cothes and select outfits for each other. super fun! but i like the hotel idea. happy birthday!
p.s. ur a fruits basket fan? i luv that series!
